The Egyptians For the rest of the term we will be looking at the ancient Egyptians. You will be locating answers to questions, discussing your findings with others and presenting your findings in interesting ways. You may also visit the sites I have set up for you. There are games, puzzles and other activities for you to do. Make sure you watch the power point that is saved as well. Most of all have fun.

Welcome back to a new school term. We have a busy time ahead of us this term. We will be looking at the Olympic games, The Titanic and Waterline. We will be sending teams to compete in the "Sevens" tournament, holding our own Bellevue Olympics and the Bellevue 500. We need to earn as much money as we can for our camp so work hard at learning the Knowledgathon questions and collecting sponor money. Remember the dates for camp are December the 12th, 13th and 14th which is right at the end of Term 4. The year sixes will be recieving enrollment forms on Monday the 23rd of July and attending an information evening at the Intermediate on Thursday the 16th of August. The year sixes will also attend The Intermediate Showcase at Baycourt on the 23rd of August. This is free with a bus supplied by the Intermediate. To top this off we have our school production to get ready for. So all in all it is going to be a very busy term. A big welcome to Deraileigh from Rotorua and Hippolyte from France. We all hope you will enjoy attending Bellevue School. We have a very interesting classroom the year with 31 pupils, many from other places in the world.

Lots of you are enjoying the story "The Dolphin Boy" by Beverly Dunlop. This is a New Zealand author and the story is set in New Zealand. This week we are going to be reading and learning about whales and dolphins becayse these creature feature in the story. An interesting article was written by some students from Pyes Pa school in Tauranga and records their expereinces when they worked with others to save some whales from strand. There are also some videos for you to watch and some interesting activities for you to do,including developing and share your own power point to record the information you have discovered.

When you are ready, think hard about what sort of comic you want to create.

The Iron Man

Construction;
Making an Iron Man from materials found at home.
Design Brief;
To design and construct an Iron Man .
Specifications;
Your Iron Man must be made from materials found at home. For example boxes, tin foil, cardboard cylinders, paper, tins, wire. Anything you can think of that would make an effective Iron Man.
Your Iron Man must have a face.
Must show creativity.
Must not be more than 50cm tall.
Must be able to stand by itself.
You may ask for assistance from members of your family.
Time;
Your Iron Man must be completed in two weeks time. Please make sure you bring it to school by the 15th of March.
